Who is responsible
Horizon Books, a division of Ignited Minds Edutech Pvt. Ltd., 513 Ansal Chamber 2, Bhikhaji Cama Place, New Delhi — 110066, decides how and why your personal data is processed on this website. This policy does not cover websites, marketplaces or businesses we do not control, including third-party platforms where an author sells independently.
What we collect

Why we collect it
- To create and manage your account and provide the services you ask for.
- To produce, print, deliver and host works, and to fulfil orders.
- To process payments, calculate royalties and make payouts.
- To meet tax, accounting and other statutory obligations.
- To respond to your questions, complaints and grievances.
- To handle copyright complaints under our Copyright & IPR Policy.
- To detect and prevent fraud and misuse, and to keep the website secure.
- To send newsletters and service announcements.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not rent or trade contact lists.
Consent and withdrawal
Where we rely on your consent — for example for marketing emails — you may withdraw it at any time by emailing us or using the unsubscribe link. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out, and we may still send essential service messages about your account, orders or a live complaint.
Personal data inside a published work
5.1 Anything you put inside your own manuscript is published with it. If you include your phone number, email, address or an identification number, it becomes public when the work is distributed. Remove what you do not want published before you submit.
5.2 Do not include personal data about anyone else without their consent — photographs, contact details, medical, academic or case information. Responsibility for this rests with the author.
5.3 We cannot recall copies already distributed or downloaded. Delisting stops further distribution; it does not retrieve what has already gone out.
Who we share data with
Only with service providers who need it to deliver what you asked for, under confidentiality obligations and only for that purpose: printing and binding partners, couriers and logistics providers, payment gateways and banks, email and hosting providers, and our accountants and legal advisers. They may not use your data for their own purposes or contact you for unrelated matters.
If our business is merged or acquired, your data may transfer to the acquirer. If their privacy practices differ materially, we will tell you before that happens.
Disclosure in legal and IPR matters
7.1 We may disclose personal data where required by law, by a court order, or by an authorised government agency, and where reasonably necessary to enforce our Terms, to investigate fraud, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
7.2 Authors and vendors should note: where a substantiated copyright complaint is made about a work, we will disclose to the complainant the author's or vendor's name and contact details, and a true account of what was produced and distributed — print quantities, delivery, download numbers and amounts received. Submitting or listing a work constitutes consent to that disclosure. We consider this necessary to allow rights owners to pursue the responsible person directly.
7.3 We tell the author or vendor when we make such a disclosure, unless a court or a law prevents us.
How long we keep it

Deleting your account does not delete records we are required to keep, or records needed to establish or defend a legal claim.
Security
We use encrypted connections, access controls and restricted staff access to protect personal data. Your account is password-protected and keeping your password confidential is your responsibility. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach occurs that is likely to affect you, we will notify you and the relevant authority as the law requires.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your shopping bag, and understand how the website is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but parts of the website — including sign-in and checkout — may stop working properly.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law and to the retention periods above, you may ask us to:
- Give you a summary of the personal data we hold about you and who we have shared it with.
- Correct data that is inaccurate, or complete data that is incomplete.
- Erase data we no longer need for the purpose it was collected for.
- Stop sending you marketing communications.
