An attempt has been made in this book to study about Military History, Organization, weapons and other system of Indian Forces during the British and after the India’s Independence. The work is intended to enhance the knowledge regarding the above subject for general readers as well as to the students of Defence & Strategic Studies of various universities of India. Generally, Some thinkers associated with the subject had a view that flourishing department of Defence Studies of these universities have not done enough to provide deep knowledge of various defence issues and so this is to bring them a bit of satisfaction that enough material is available in the form of books, articles and through projects conducted by the family of Defence & Strategic Department. This book shall be an ideal reading for these types of thinkers that enough is being done by the scholars of this subject. This book is the result of untiring efforts of highly experienced and intelligent teacher and enthusiastic young student of this subject describing the Indian Army, Its organizations, various ranks & badges, exercises conducted by our gallant soldiers have been explain in a simple & attractive manner that gives an opportunity to the readers for better understanding. India has to face direct conflict with Pakistan and China or may be with both the difficult neighbours at the same i.e. from west, north, east. Therefore underestimating the external challenges and internal threats may not give correct idea to understand the organization of our army and its challenges likely to be faced in future.
In this chapter, capability of Indian Army in the field of nuclear warheads have been given for making the reader familiar that’s why nuclear weapons are more essential for Indian Army. However, it is well known fact that nuclear weapons were developed and used in 1925. Thereafter in a very competitive & speedy manner but has not been used till today.
