Shoulder joint is the one of the most common peripheral joints to be treated in physiotherapy clinics. In most of the patients with shoulder disorders affecting soft tissues pain is the primary symptom. In many patients, painful restriction of the range of shoulder movement limits the ability to perform daily activities.Annual incidences of shoulder disorders vary from 7 to 25 per 1000 general practice consultations. Half of all presented episodes resolve within 6 months, but some lasts a year or more. Most patients with such disorders are treated with Analgesics, NSAID, Steroid injections, & physiotherapy. Common physiotherapy modalities & techniques being used are Laser, IFT, TENS, Cryotherapy, Ultra Sound, Massage, SWD, exercises etc.

The glenohumeral joint sacrifices stability for mobility. The shoulder is capable of moving in over 16,000 positions, which can be differentiated by 1 in the normal person. The mobility of the shoulder is dependent upon proximal stability of the humerus & scapula. The position of the humerus and scapula must change throughout each movement in order to maintain stability
